Veganism is alive and well in the Black community. I was a proud meat eater who began a plant-based diet for health reasons. A meatless March continued to a vegetarian lifestyle, followed by finally ditching the dairy. Though it may seem impossible, I'm here to help! Let's partner to change your life!
Having survived a heart attack, which is the leading cause of death in the Black community, I understand the impact of chronic disease. I've also overcame obesity, medicine-induced hypertension, & thyroid issues, etc. Diet & exercise does more than change your physical body but is vital to your emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. What & why we eat matters! I'm a living testimony of the power of PLANTS!
Fit Black Vegan is designed to educate others regarding veganism and open the conversation between culture, health, ethics, and faith. Eating a plant-based diet isn't a "White" thing, for it has been part of Black culture for years. It's time to make a statement and take back our lives via living active lives, quality education, proper nutrition, & meal planning while breaking the stereotype!
